Marie Barbieri is an award-winning travel writer and photographer who contributes to newsstand travel and health magazines, inflight publications, newspapers, blogs and award-winning websites. She has been hemisphere-hopping for more than 25 years, and 13 years ago, left her native England for the otherworldly landscapes of Australia.
Marie is a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers and was a winner at the 2016 ASTW Travel Journalism Awards for Excellence. She was also a finalist at the 2020 and 2014 ASTW Travel Journalism Awards for Excellence, and a finalist at the SA Media Awards (2019, 2016, 2014 and 2013).
Marie is also a qualified complementary therapist. Alongside her freelance writing business, she ran her own mobile therapy business in the UK for several years prior to her move to Australia.
Marie enjoys: bushwalking, cycling, snorkelling, wildlife conservation, holistic health and wellbeing, dancing, roller skating and yoga - and a fine cup of Earl Grey tea.
