Exotic Morocco with Valli Little
Culinary expert Valli Little will host a week long Exotic Morocco tour in September showcasing the tastes and flavours of the country.
Valli will share her cooking secrets on the tour organised by Carol Prior of By Prior Arrangement.
“We will be visiting the souks, food markets, private homes and gardens to discover some hidden secrets of Morocco,” says Carol, who offers bespoke small group luxury tours and individual itineraries to the country.
“There will be plenty of mouth-watering memories to take home and everyone gets a signed copy of Valli’s cookbook.”
The itinerary includes a stay in a beautiful private house on the beach near the town of Oualidia.
“We will visit the local oyster farm to gather seafood as it comes in on the fishing boats and food lovers will then head home to cook a feast with Valli,” Carol says.
Quiet morning walks on the beach will then be replaced by busy Marrakech for four days staying at Dar Les Cigognes.
Valli will share her favourite Moroccan recipes during her hands-on cooking classes using the local produce.
Born into a family of UK restaurateurs, Valli was destined to work in the food industry. After formal training at Le Cordon Bleu in London,
she embarked on a career as a food consultant and caterer. For 14 years, Valli was food director of the highly successful delicious. magazine
where she created up to 60 recipes each month inspired by her travels and her love of food. Valli continues at delicious. as senior
contributing editor with a monthly feature in the magazine. She is a regular guest on national radio and the author of a series of bestselling
delicious. cookbooks.
The trip is scheduled from September 27 to October 4.
Carol Prior who made her first voyage to Morocco in 1971, says it is like her second home.
“As I set foot in Tanger for the first time, I was utterly struck by the exotic chaos – the port full of camels, blue desert men, mules, donkeys – a country so foreign, and yet so intriguing, I knew I must return,” she says.
And return she did.
Over the past 30 years, Carol has turned her passion for Morocco into a business, becoming Australia’s prominent provider of tailored small group luxury tours and individual itineraries to Morocco.
Specialising in handcrafted historical, cultural itineraries which encompass food, gardens, interiors, architecture and adventure she has access to local experts, locations, and experiences.
“Imagine sliding down sand dunes on magic carpets, greeted at the bottom by a glass of champagne before you are transferred by saddled camels to your desert camp site; cooking beside a chef in your own private villa, or taking in Yves Saint Laurent’s private gardens,” she says.
By Prior Arrangement now includes other destinations – South Africa, France, Ireland and Scotland.
