Otahuna’s New Woodland Massage Studio

As well as indulging in all the delights of a stay at beautiful Otahuna Lodge, a new Woodland Massage Studio offers the perfect way to unwind and relax.

The leading South Island Relais & Châteaux property  has opened its new massage studio located in its historic grounds. At the Studio, guests can indulge in massage with therapists providing 60 or 90-minute treatments of different styles and pressures.

Secluded Studio

The secluded Studio is positioned in the property’s century-old gardens and offers sweeping views of wooded glades across to the neighbouring, volcanic Port Hills. The space was made from timber milled from the Estate and is the firstly entirely new building constructed at Otahuna in some 100 years.

Managing Director Hall Cannon says “We know our guests love to spend their days exploring the incredible Canterbury region which Otahuna is so lucky to call home. But we also know that they like to take the time to relax and enjoy all the comforts we offer at the Lodge. Whether that be our pool, outdoor spa, tennis court, gardens and, now, Massage Studio. A visit to Otahuna Lodge can be as active, adventurous or relaxing and wellness focused as our guests like.”

Design

Contemporary in design, the Studio provides a distinct yet complementary departure from the storied Queen Anne style of Otahuna’s celebrated 1895 homestead.  Paying homage to the Studio’s woodland location, the building’s exterior is clad in Cedar while the interior provides a warm, welcoming refuge for clients to indulge in massage treatments by a dedicated team of therapists. The Woodland Massage Studio was built over winter 2017 and designed by FultonRoss Architects.
