Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara Opens in Oman

Oman has a new luxury resort with Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara opening its doors in Salalah, in Dhofar on the Arabian Sea.
Nestled between a long, scenic beach and a freshwater lagoon, and bordering the Al Baleed UNESCO archaeological site, the resort introduces a new level of luxury to this part of Oman, adding to its many charms.
Famed for the riches of its wadis dotted with frankincense, coconut-fringed beaches, a wealth of archaeological sites and a profusion of tropical greenery during the summer monsoon season, Salalah offers discerning travellers a destination of natural beauty. There is also plenty to do for those who are interested in history and culture, with the resort located in the ituated in the heart of the 6,000 year-old Frankincense Trail.
Designed with the simple grandeur of the region’s iconic coastal fortresses in mind, the Resort offers 136 guest rooms and villas with views of the lagoon, gardens or the ocean. Choose from 40 premier and deluxe rooms, the eight one-bedroom villas or the 88 one- and two-bedroom pool villas which include personalised villa host services and separate living areas. The pool villas are the first of their kind in Salalah.
There are three restaurants on site and it wouldn’t be Anantara without the renowned Anantara Spa. Rooted in Thai philosophy with influences from Arabia, the Spa takes guests on a holistic journey, and has the only hammam in Salalah alongside rejuvenating treatments using indigenous ingredients such as pomegranate, coconut and frankincense. The resort also offers wellness programmes that run over three, five or seven days.
