A range of new driving itineraries launched for Victoria’s High Country is especially designed for the curious traveller.
Set to redefine escape, discovery and reward, these are the most unexpected of touring routes.
They take visitors onto the less travelled roads, tracks and trails of the High Country to discover the hidden delights of the region.
This summer, Tourism North East CEO, Bess Nolan-Cook is encouraging guests to bring their sense of adventure and curiosity to the High Country.
“Whilst the High Country is well known for its talented makers, history and natural beauty, there are many ‘quiet achievers’ out there, woven amidst the hype, just waiting to be uncovered, ” Ms Nolan-Cook says.
“Around every village corner, down every country track and lane, there’s something new and extraordinary to discover and explore in Victoria’s High Country.”
In the charming Rutherglen region, guests are invited to head off the beaten track to discover unique winery accommodation, sunset hikes with 360-degree views, gin and nougat tasting and 150-year-old pubs.
High in the King Valley, a rejuvenating itinerary, ‘King Valley Venture’ of unorthodox accommodation, new and exclusive wine experiences and majestic waterfalls and lookouts are sure to satisfy curious souls.
And over in Mansfield guests will find their ‘happy place’ on this relaxing route, ‘Unmask Mansfield’.
It takes in the quiet hospitality of the lesser-known pub, the tranquillity of the smaller accommodation and the peacefulness of the peripheral swimming spots.
‘Taking the road less travelled in Victoria’s High Country opens up a world of discovery and delight,’ Ms Nolan-Cook says.
‘We suggest guests head to victoriashighcountry.com.au to get all the inspiration and information they need to plan their trips and travel safely.”
